In Fade to black/there’s a light, two short written pieces are addressed to a longtime estranged mother in a cult. These are surrounded by stream of consciousness text and spontaneously remembered text. The text was carved negotiating the cognitive challenges of reversing letters and words in order for it to read right to left when printed. This focus aided the flow of thought.
